Boil Order Lifted Amid Precautions

The City of Lewiston Public Works Department has lifted that Boil Water Alert Order for some parts of the community, but since it all began when a rupture occurred, there is still a hole in the reservoir. That hole exposes the water to the atmosphere, so a boil water order is required by state law for areas still served by the reservoir. The boil water order is precautionary, and workers have isolated the parts of the system involved. So far, all samples have come back clean.
