Construction Company Hit with 6 Digit Fine

If at first you don’t succeed, well… keep on failing then. Apparently that’s the view of one Washington construction company owner. That company, Genesis Framing Construction, is facing nearly $400,000 in fines for allowing crew members to work more than 26 feet above the ground without fall protection. It’s the exact same violation that the owner of the company, Cecilio Solorio, been cited and fined for 15 times previously. Inspectors with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries showed up at the site of a two-story home being framed by Genesis Framing Construction, where they found one worker using a hand-made scaffold and another walking on a steep roof without fall protection, both being watched by the foreman. Inspectors also found crewmembers working near unguarded wall openings more than 15 feet above the ground. The new infractions resulted in nine violations. The company faces $396,847.00 in fines.
