It was back on June 26th when Clearwater County Sheriffs Deputies and the Elk River Ambulance responded to a report of an unresponsive man about four miles up Basin Road. They arrived to find 34-year-old Kenneth Meckel of Troy, Idaho dead. The Clearwater County Coroner ordered an autopsy be conducted to determine the cause of Meckel’s death. The results of that autopsy have now been released, and the death has been determined to have been drug related… caused by toxic effects of fentanyl.
