Financial Literacy Needed

While pretty much everyone would agree that learning how to manage your finances is an important skill, some educators believe it’s a skill many young people lack. Now comes a bill in the Idaho Legislature though, that would work to fix it with financial literacy courses for high school students. It comes after some recent surveys indicated that over 82% of high school seniors felt as though they didn’t receive enough information to be prepared around financial literacy… things like checking accounts, saving accounts, debit cards, and credit cards. Now, the house has unanimously passed legislation that would require high schools to provide one or more courses in personal financial literacy.
