The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife wants your thoughts on a draft periodic status review for the western gray squirrel that includes a recommendation to re-classify the squirrel as a state-endangered species. Anyone can now submit written comments on the document. Western gray squirrels are a protected species in Washington and cannot be hunted, trapped, or killed.
