Blackfoot Man Facing Serious Prison Time

A Blackfoot man has been convicted by a federal jury of distribution and possession of child pornography. Following a trial that took three days to wrap up, the jury in Pocatello found 41 year old Joseph Hornof guilty of two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. When he is sentenced, Hornof will have more problems now, because he is subject to a sentencing enhancement for committing a prior sex offense against a child in 2009 in Bannock County, Idaho.. Because he has a prior conviction, his new charge carries a heavy penalty… a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 40 years in federal prison per count, plus a fine of up to $250,000, and a minimum of 5 years of supervised release, but a possible maximum of life under supervised release. Hornof will also be required to register as a sex offender. His sentencing has now been set for May 1st in Pocatello.
