Theft Leads to Drug Charges

Following an investigation by Lewiston Police into a 2022 Roadrunner Cargo trailer that was reported missing in Lewiston, a couple from Spokane has been arrested. Lewiston Police issued an alert to surrounding agencies to be on the lookout for the stolen trailer. An Idaho State Trooper was patrolling near the Lewiston Hill on US 95 when she saw the trailer being pulled by an unlicensed GMC Sierra, so the vehicle was pulled over. While speaking with the driver, 48 year old James Lairmore and the passenger, 42 year old Dana Rupp… both of Spokane… it was discovered that Lairmore had needles and suspected drugs including methamphetamine. A search of the vehicle then turned up a pair of bolt cutters, ball cap with a long wig sewn into it, an ignition for a Chevrolet HHR, and a stolen Washington state license plate, plus more drug paraphernalia. Lairmore and Rupp were arrested and taken to the Nez Perce County Detention Center… where more drugs were found when they were processed.
