A Wild Night in Meridian

Around 9pm on Christmas Eve, when Meridian police responded to a domestic disturbance, the found a 62-year-old woman who had a cut on her forehead. She told officers that she had been battered by 31-year-old Trevor Dyer. As an officer was talking with the woman, he was then attacked by Dyer. At that, the officer deployed his taser, but it had no effect on Dyer, who then got on top of the officer, and then punched him in the face. The officer got free, Dyer retreated to a bathroom and then other officers attempted to get Dyer to surrender, but he just wanted to fight. Finally, an officer was apply a carotid neck restraint on Dyer rendering him unconscious, and then he was taken into custody. The officers and the original victim are all recovering. Dyer was placed behind bars in the Ada County Jail, where he faces three counts of felony Aggravated Battery and other charges.
