Woman to Be Sentenced for Fraud

A West Richland woman has admitted that she ripped off more than $337,000 in COVID relief money from the federal government. 52 year old Jimia Rae Cain pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining $337,267 in federal COVID-19 relief funding, by claiming it was going to a construction business… Americore Construction… that did no work and employed no people. While Cain has agreed to reimburse the federal government, she isn’t out of the woods yet so to speak. The maximum penalty she now faces is five years in prison, followed by another three years of probation. Her sentencing has been set for June 1, 2023 in Richland.
