Serial Felony Offender Gets Slapped on the Wrist By Judges

A man from Lewiston was arrested twice in less than two weeks for drug possession. 46 year old Oliver Taylor was arrested last week when he was caught in possession of Methamphetamine. Just days later, he was arrested again for the same charge… possession of a controlled substance. The Nez Perce County Prosecutor’s Office originally argued for a bail of $30,000 due to the fact that Taylor missed court eight times in the past. He also has multiple prior felony convictions along with two prior burglary convictions. But the judge ordered only a $5,000 bond, so Taylor bonded out of jail just days before his latest arrest for methamphetamine possession. At the latest bond hearing, the Prosecutor’s Office argued for a $50,000 bond because Taylor was arrested less than seven days for the same felony, because he has prior felony convictions, due to his criminal history, and due to his likelihood of missing court dates. This time, the judge set bond at just $10,000.
