Car Stolen with Baby in Backseat – Baby Recovered Safe

A young child that was in the backseat of a car when it was stolen in Yakima has been recovered. Police say a family member left the little girl in the car while it was running and parked at the post office Sunday morning when it was stolen by a 33 year old homeless man who police say possibly didn’t even know she was there. When the car was stopped, the infant was not in it. She was found later, still in her car seat, safe in an alleyway in Union Gap, and has since been reunited with her family. The name of the suspect has not been released.
