Eyes in the Sky End High Speed Pursuit

Late last week, a Spokane Valley Deputy observed two men riding motorcycles recklessly north on Progress Road from Sprague Avenue. When he attempted to stop them they took off at a high rate of speed. When he got close to them again, he noticed that they each had their license plates bent upward, making them difficult to read. They took off at speeds estimated to be in excess of 100 miles per hour… outrunning the police car. But 18-year-old Mikalai Belavus and 19-year-old Rouvim Kopets didn’t plan on being tracked down by the police helicopter. Eventually they were stopped and taken into custody. Luckily, nobody was hurt… or worse! Both men are now in the Spokane County Jail, and they both face felony charges.
