Financial assistance is now available to help folks here in Washington escape the intense summer heat we are experiencing. The state’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program now makes grants for certain cooling units to eligible applicants. Eligibility is set at an income at or below 150% of the federal poverty level. For an individual, the qualifying amount is $1,610 or less per month. For a family of four, it’s $3,313 per month.
